Brian Warren, SigEp CEO, announces Exemplary Service Awards for 2017

“Past Grand President Phil Cox told us often, “Behind every great chapter is a group of dedicated volunteers.”  These men and women make a difference in our chapters and campus communities every day. But they don’t do it for the recognition. They do it because they love SigEp and believe in SigEp’s ability to bring out the best in young men.

Among that special group of dedicated volunteers, a select few stand out as truly exemplary. I am proud to announce the five 2017 winners of the Exemplary Service Award, chosen from those who have served SigEp for at least 20 years. These brothers will receive their awards as the culmination of our Carlson Leadership Academies around the country in January and February.”

Earl Rainwater, Tennessee ’60 (Atlanta)
Earl, together with his late brother Burl Rainwater, Tennessee ’58, has served as the backbone of our Tennessee Alpha Chapter since 1964. In 1978, he helped found the Tennessee Alpha Scholarship Foundation. The same year he was honored by the National Fraternity with the inaugural Distinguished Alumnus award. Earl’s more than 50 years of dedication — which continues today — is legendary. Brother Rainwater will receive his award at the Atlanta Carlson Leadership Academy on February 4.

Also receiving the Exemplary Service Award this year:

  • Paul Litcher, Indiana Tech ’88 (Long Branch, NJ)
  • Steve Young, Kansas ’80 (Orange County, CA)
  • Dr. Gary Bunn, Central Arkansas ’88 (Oklahoma City)
  • Tom Barton, Loras ’89 (Chicago)
