Saturday August 13 the Tennessee Alpha Educational Foundation awarded Balanced Man Scholarships (BMS Scholarship)  to incoming freshmen at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.

For the past 20 years our BMS Scholarship has rewarded young men who demonstrate the traits we believe are important in leading a balanced lifestyle. Applicants are evaluated for their achievements as scholars, athletes, leaders, and gentlemen. Fifteen finalists, all first time incoming freshmen, and their parents attended as guests of the chapter. This year the chapter awarded seven scholarships totaling $5000.

Scholarship Recipients:

1st place ($1500): James M Tidwell
2nd place ($1000): Mariano Del Rosso
3rd place ($500): Noah J Dunlap

Gentleman ($500): Anderson R Chapman
Athlete ($500): Sean Srock
Leader ($500): John Deinhart
Scholar ($500): Cole Collins

Thanks to Will Jarvis, our Balanced Man Scholarship chairman, Mark Sparkman, the BMS Mentor and also President of the Alumni and Volunteer Corporation, and to Kelly Williams, the President of the Tennessee Alpha Educational Foundation, and to all the members who worked to make this happen. Their hard work and dedication to detail made the scholarships and the dinner possible.
